Maui '99

Absolutely gorgous, stayed at the Hyatt Hotel on the Kalapani Coast in Southern Maui just west of Lahana, Hawaii.  Southern coast of Maui is very desert like (like Arizona) but add a little water and the lush tropical plants come alive. Outside our hotel we had terrific diving with tons of fish, hoards of turtles and even an occasional shark.

Spent a day seeing other sites in Maui - drove to Hana (extremly tropical rain forest), Sugar Plantation and exotic fruit plantation (bananas, pineapples and other tropical fruits). Very nice island but very expensive.

Dove four dives around Maui, one wall dive on the outside edge of Molikini and two dives off the coast of Lanai. Overall great diving but the water is very cold and the prices are very expensive.  Most dives were in the 40-70 foot range with the average water temperature around 70 degrees.

Waterfall on road to Hana.

Waterfall and Swans at the Swans Court Restraunt .
