Unix Scripts

Welcome to my UNIX scripts to perform a variaty of tasks required within a UNIX and DBA environment; most scripts will work correctly against all Oracle database releases. I do not warrent any of the scripts nor promise the results; all that I ask is that header block within each script remain unchanged....

User assumes all responsibility; please understand the objective of the script and use it accordingly. If you do not see a script for a specific function please let me know via eMail and I can probably 'whip' one up in a matter of minutes...

add_user.sh	Add User to both UNIX and Oracle
apstrace.sh	Application trace utility
auto_ora.sh	Automatically start/stop all databases
cshrc.sh	Sample .cshrc
dba_tool.sh	Statistical information about ALL database Instances
dbchklst.sh	DBA checklist for instance review
ffind.sh	Search utility for UNIX
hotback.sh	Dynamically create a hotbackup script
kshrc.sh	Sample .kschrc
lf_find.sh	Find all large files (for purge)
promadm.sh	Shell script to perform adminstrative actions with the change control - SCCS
orainv.sh	Take inventory of all installed Oracle products
promote.sh	Shell script to perform adminstrative actions with the change control - RCS
sccs_dir.sh	Shell script to promote a directory of source code from the change control
rename.sh	rename all files to lowercase
tkprof_rpt.sh	Given an Oracle trace file generate a tkprof report
trace.sh	Trace an Oracle process - by user

*backup_recovery.zip*	Backup and Recovery scripts; extremely robust
